South African rapper Costa Titch is over the moon as he lands not one but six nominations at this year’s Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA). The Big flexa hitmaker went into social media to celebrate being the most nominated artist at AFRIMA this year. The rapper added Amapiano beats to it has become an international sensation and is reaping the fruits of his labour.

Taking to his Instagram to share this piece of good news, Costa Titch showed off all the awards his Song has been nominated for. The 2021 smash hit Big Flexa is set in the Song of the year category, Best African Collaboration, Best Artiste, Best Duo/Group in African Electro, Best Artist in African dance or choreography and Breakout Artiste of the year. The only other artist with as many nominations as Costa Titch is DRC’s Dadju.
Costa Titch is going against hit songs like Buga, Somebody’s son, Peru and many others in the Best collaboration award. For the best dance and choreography Award, he goes against the likes of fellow South African artist Kamo Mpela and many more. Artists like DJ Snake, DJ Maphorisa, Zakes Bantwini and many internationally recognized artists are his competition in all his other award nominations.
Big Flexa was released on the 9th of December, features artists like C’buda M, Alfa Kat, Banana Des, Sdida and Man T. The video also features one of the best dance groups in South Africa, Soweto’s finest. Costa Titch is a professional dancer, songwriter and writer. He blended all his talents in this Amapiano song, making him a sensation.
The 2022 AFRIMA Award ceremony
The African Music Award ceremony is the biggest award show in the continent and is held annually. Last year the award show was held in Nigeria for three days, with artist showing off their talent. This year the Award show will happen from the 8th through to the 11th of December 2022. An announcement of the host country will be made next week.
The Award show received a total of 9067 entries which is record-breaking since its inception. Of those, 382 nominations were selected in all the 39 categories of Awards to be won. The voting will only start on the 25th of September and at noon on the Award show’s official website. On the 10th of December, the voting portal will close as they prepare for the main Award show.
