Lesotho Prime Minister Thomas Thabane has left Lesotho on a day he was supposed to appear in court over murder charges. He is charged together with his current wife Maesaiah Thabane for the murder of her former wife Lipolelo Thabane.
Mr Thabane’s previous wife Lipolelo Thabane, 58, died from wounds of a gun shot that hit her two days before he became Prime Minister.
Speaking to media, Thabane’s spokesperson Thabo Thakalekoala, said the Prime Minister is in neighbouring South Africa where he is receiving medical treatment.
“He is not attending court, he has gone for a medical check up in South Africa. It is a routine check up,” Thakalekoala said.
