Lesley_Ann Brandt lands her new next significant TV role
After the bitter-sweet ending to Lucifer, fans have been wondering what other new roles South African-born star Lesley-Ann Brandt is working on.
Brandt, who played the demon Mazikeen (a.k.a Maze) in Lucifer, stars in Hanover Street, a new drama series. The series is to be set in Cape Town during the Apartheid. The storyline will center mainly around District Six, an area with a strong LGBTQ community and a very diverse population despite the rules during Apartheid.
“We are thrilled to have partnered with Lori, Morgan, and the team at Revelations to bring the beauty and tragedy of District Six to life,” Brandt, 39, told Deadline. “It’s such a personal story to me, my family, and the people of the Cape Flats. While the barbarity of the apartheid regime has featured onscreen before, Hanover Street will lean into the joy and solidarity that the community shared in the face of repression.”
Lesley-Ann was first noticed internationally after playing the role of Naevia in the series Spartacus: Blood and Sand. She has starred in many international series such as Diplomatic Immunity, CSI-NY, Gotham, Zombie Apocalypse, Single ladies, The Librarians, and Lucifer only but to mention a few. Besides acting, the beautiful star has done some modeling in the past. She also played competitive field hockey for several years before migrating to New Zealand. We expect great things from this star in the future too.
The release and production date for Hanover Street has not been announced yet. However, we here at Savanna news will make sure to keep you updated whenever that does happen.
