BACKGROUND
Lebogang was born in the township of Tembisa. However his parents moved to Alexandra, north of Johannesburg and that’s where he grew up. He grew up with his two older brothers. Despite the move, both his parents come from Bungeni Village eka-Njhakanjhaka exavunyami in the Limpopo province of South Africa. He had a passion for football since a tender young age, practicing at every chance he could. High school was really where he came into his own, at Northview High School whilst honing his skills.

CAREER
Lebogang made his debut under Ajax Cape town in August 2010. He was a transfer from FC Alexandra, a phenomenal transfer to say the least. This is because Lebogang went on to become the stand out player in the South African Premier League. As a result he was acquired by Supersport United. However Supersport United loaned him to Mpumalanga Black Aces for the 2015/16 season. During his stint here he suffered an injury that left him unable to finish up the season.
In 2016, he was then signed to Cape Town City FC and named team captain in time for the 2016/17 Premier Soccer League campaign. Under his guiding hand the team won the Telkom Knockout Trophy. He was the league’s top goal scoarer and named South African player of the year. During his time with Cape Town City FC he was also drafted to play for the South African national team.
In the 2017/18 season he joined Konyaspor, a turkish team for just one season. However he was not getting enough play time and there was a mutual agreement to end his contract. Kaizer Chiefs then took a notice of the player and decided to make an offer. This led to his transfer to the Chiefs in 2018. However his contract expires this year in June, so we wait and see if it is renewed.

As of 2020 Lebogang Manyama is worth R7 million. This is due to his stellar work as a footballer and captain of the Chifes. However his net worth has decreased in recent years. CAR ACCIDENT
Right before his start with the Chiefs, Manyama was involved in a debilitating car accident. He fractured his elbow accompanied by a multitude of other injuries, he was unable to be in full form. This led to his start at the Chiefs to be less than desirable. This accompanied by the fact that he had come from a bad season in Turkey had him almost losing hope. However Lebogang persevered and eventually conquered.
In an interview about the accident Lebogang said, “I had to try and catch up‚ which is not easy at a club like Chiefs. People already wanted to see me on the field of play. Unfortunately I had an accident last season‚ and then I got a bad injury and stayed out again. In-between those injuries you could see that I really wanted to help the club‚ but unfortunately things turned out the way they were. I knew my time would come [at Chiefs] and I kept my positivity‚ always hoping that I would eventually get my chance to play and prove myself. But most importantly it was a matter of being patient and making sure of being 100 percent instead of trying to push myself and force because things were not going my way.”
