Khanyi Mbau’s leaked nudes got Pearl Thusi SABC job
Pearl Thusi sat with actress Khanyi Mbau talk about a number of issues ranging from growing up as a young girl dating older men and her relationship with her deceased father on Behind The Story with Pearl on BET.
Khanyi Mbau left host Pearl Thusi stunned after revealing how she indirectly helped her to get into the industry. Thusi discovered that Khanyi Mbau’s supposed downfall after being canned from The Real Goboza orchestrated her rise.
Khanyi Mbau’s relationship with her father was known to be rocky as she grew up. Mbau said she started falling for an older man, Mandla Mthembu because fatherly love was absent from her father.
Despite having gone separate ways with Mthembu, Mbau says she still wants her baby daddy to be part of her daughter Khanukani’s life.
Mbau says Mthembu took the role of both a lover and a father in her life and it was a win-win solution.
Khanyi says Mandla expected their child to be a boy and wanted the child to be born after his 24th December birthday, but she went into early labour from the physical harm and abuse she received from her then-husband. She was due in February. “He would beat me, kick me and throw me down the stairs,” said Khanyi.
She also revealed that she never saw a future with on and off boyfriend Tebogo Lerole despite spending 10 years together. She also revealed that the lack of commitment to each other meant they were never going to have a baby together.
After the problems she went through, Khanyi says she feared dating wealthy men who don’t know who they are. She also said Tebogo broke her heart and she never saw them marrying one day.
“Dating toxic human beings that have money and don’t know who they are is mentally draining, I was at a point where I did not want to date rich men anymore,” Mbau continued.
“I wouldn’t have married him, if I wanted to marry him we would have a kid by now. We have been together for 10 years, it’s very rare for people to be together for 10 years. You can imagine what type of sex they are having to not have a child,” she added.
Pearl was shocked when Mbau talked about how the leaked nudes working in her favour. Mbau says her ex-lover after Mandla sabotaged her by leaking her nudes which caused her dismissal from SABC.
Pearl was next in line and took the chance to become big in the industry but Mbau says she has no hard feelings for the BET presenter.
