After South African Heroines Awards founder Carol Mosiamo called Kelly Khumalo out and demanded a refund of R30000 that was paid to the award-winning singer as her fee for performing at the event while talking with Daily news, Kelly Khumalo will not have any of it! The songstress has finally responded to the call-out and refuses to pay back the money, and goes on to say she would not even perform for free at her next event.
Carol hired the singer to perform at the South African Heroines Awards, which took place on 18 August in Bloemfontein. Carol claimed that Kelly Khumalo arrived at the prestigious event but did not perform.
In fact, she made a one-eighty back to the hotel that the organization had booked by her.
The singer seems to be recalling a different chain of events altogether. Kelly Khumalo has narrated her side of the story through her manager, Khotatso Tsotetsi. Khatatso says that Kelly was supposed to perform at 9 pm. Still, while they were waiting for her to perform, the venue was evacuated due to the curfew but no one from Carol’s organization communicated with the singer. ‘Kelly won’t pay back the money. We spent money traveling from Bloemfontein and did her a favor by giving them a discount. I will definitely not allow her to perform for free,’ says Khatatso.
Conversations between the CEO and the singer were played to daily news where Carol keeps demanding her money back while Kelly Khumalo keeps standing her ground. Carol threatens to contact her legal team and deal with the issue legally if the singer refuses to pay her money back.
