Reality star and singer Kelly Khumalo has responded to the allegations that she made phone calls to one of the suspects implicated in the murder of former Orlando Pirates and Bafana Bafana captain Senzo Meyiwa.
The National Prosecuting Authority mistakenly leaked court papers that implicated Kelly in the murder case to the media, The papers suggested Kelly has a case to answer and sought to obtain calls records to one of the suspects.

The NPA spokesperson Sipho Ngwema said: “This document is not something that should be in the public domain… We need to make sure, all of us (law enforcement) and you (media) that at the end of the day we don’t compromise the integrity of the case.”
The police managed to get confessions from two of the suspects, according to the lake document.
One of the suspects was allegedly in contact with Khumalo in 2014 before the 26 October shooting of Senzo Meyiwa at then-girlfriend Kelly Khumalo‘s family home in Voslorus.

Khumalo has now hired Former Economic Freedom Fighters Treasurer General Magdalene Moonsamy as her defence attorney to fight to clear her name from the issue that has stalled her career.
Her attorney made a statement responding to the allegations of the leaked document suggesting phone calls were made between Kelly Khumalo and the murder suspect.
“Our client notes the recent developments of which at this sad time allowed her the opportunity to remain private in the best interest of herself and children especially that of the daughter she has with Mr Meyiwa,” said Moonsamy in the statement.
“We wish to place it on record that our client is not implicated nor charged in this matter and is therefore not a suspect,” Moonsamy said while responding to the calls linking Khumalo to one of the suspects.
