In October of 2018 after his second season ended he signed onto Melbourne City FC as an injury replacement player. About 8 months later in June of 2018, Kearyn signed onto Kaizer Chiefs under a three year deal.
He stepped into the Chiefs looking for Jersey number 15, however the jersey was retired with Doctor Khumalo. Upon discovering this, he was disappointed as he did not even know the legend of Doctor Khumalo. However it did result in him getting a history lesson from his mum about the team he was playing for. Despite his disappointment he still holds out a flicker of hope in case the Doctor takes pity on him and brings out the jersey from retirement.
