#katlegomaboemustrise: Tweeps Stand By Katlego Maboe Amid Scandal (katlego maboe must rise)
Tweeps are consoling popular television personality Katlego Maboe who was in the news recently for the wrong reasons.
Katlego’s wife dropped a video of the presenter popularly known for his OUTsurance adverts, confessing to cheating on her with a woman named Nikita Murray. Consequently, Katlego was suspended from The Expresso Show with OUTsurance stating that they are working on removing adverts featuring him as soon as possible.
However, South Africans have taken to Twitter to discuss Katlego’s predicament with some insisting he has been unfairly dealt with. This resulted in the hashtag #katlegomaboemustrise trending on Saturday morning. The hashtag is trending alongside the hashtags #Outsurancemustfall and #ExpressoShowmustfall and #katlegomaboechallenge.
A Twitter user, Masalow saidOUTsurance and the Expresso Show had dealt with Katlego unfairly saying, “They are unfair, they can’t fire someone because they cheated!!!!!! Or is it because he is black?? #OutsuranceMustFall #ExpressoShowmustfall #katlegomaboemustrise”
Another user, Tshego said what Katlego was going through is a domestic issue where employers and work colleagues did not have a right to be involved in, “This is basically a domestic matter whereby employers and colleagues don’t have a say”
Lucky Buang agreed with the view saying Katlego needs a lot of support, “The man @KatlegoMaboe needs a lot of support, we can’t be subjected to disciplinary hearings from places of our employ after a misconduct and still face the same challenges in our private lives. Corporates must stay away from our private lives.”
Mzansi company services said the fact that Katlego’s wife recorded what should have been a private conversation and posted it for the world to see, was evidence that she did not love him, “The fact that Katlego’s wife recorded all this shows her resentment of the guy, uthando lwaphelayo kudala, if it was ever there before.”
