Good news is a myth when it comes to Katlego Maboe these days. Over and above all, SABC has dismissed and tarnished any hope of viewers ever seeing their favourite on the Expresso screen as a presenter.
The SABC has dismissed rumours on social media that Katlego Maboe will be reinstated. Apparently, second chances are not quite the thing when it comes to public scandals. Katlego Maboe saw himself being suspended from Expresso after the leaking of a video where he admitted to having cheated on his partner and infecting her with an STI. Abuse accusations also came up. A suspension gave fans the hope that perhaps one day the presenter will return to the screen but alas the SABC is not so big on second chances. Not even after fans launched a petition for the presenter to get his job back.
Katlego Maboe not returning to Expresso
This is not the first of disastrous news in 2021 the former Expresso presenter and former face of OUTsurance Insurance has had to deal with. OUTsurance as well dismissed any hope Katlego Maboe and friends may have had in seeing him return to OUTsurance ads. OUTsurance also confirmed last month that this is the official journey for them with Katlego as they have replaced him with Elana Afrika-Bredenkemp who is now the new face of OUTsurance.
All this comes even after fans fought hard for the TV personality to return to their screens with a petition that saw over 7000 signatures. Katlego has also been facing legal problems has he was arrested early last month for contempt of court as he is said to have skipped court which he was supposed to have attended in light of the harassment and victimisation his ex, Monique Muller is charging him with.
While it’s not the end for Katlego, it’s a pretty deep hole to climb out of.
