Kaizer Motaung, the owner of Kaizer Chiefs, has been heavily involved in football administration for years and has been credited for the growth of South African football.
Early Career
Motaung started his footballing career with Soweto giants Orlando Pirates. However, his unmatched flair saw him attracting several European clubs.
Rise to Fame
Against his newfound fame, he signed for Atlanta Chiefs in the MSL. He had an impressive stint scoring 32 goals in 64 appearances. However, despite being offered a new, improved contract, Kaizer Motaung turned down the offer.
He returned to South Africa and started his club Kaizer Chiefs. Years later, Kaizer Chiefs has fast become one the biggest clubs in Africa.

In addition to founding Kaizer Chiefs, Motaung also co-founded the South African Premier League (PSL) in 1996 with Irvin Khoza. This helped bring more sponsors and money into South African professional soccer.
