Just In: Tembisa mother of 10 Gosiame Sithole arrested and detained
The drama is far from over and it seems as if it has fast become a reality show. In the wake of her overnight fame after claiming to have given birth to decuplets, Gosiame Sithole has been arrested and detained.
However, it has since confirmed that she is now behind bars but little is known as to why is he behind bars. In the wake of her arrest, the South African Police Services and Gauteng Department of Social Development stand accused of alleged abuse of power.
According to sources, she was nabbed by police in the early hours of Thursday. Moreover her lawyer Refiloe Mokoena has been barred to see her. According to the lawyer the police have kept Sithole against her will and denied her access to legal representation.
It was also established that she was to be handed over to the Gauteng Department of Social Development. According to Mokoena, Sithole was picked up from a relative’s place at Rabie Ridge, Midrand.
However from there she and taken to the police station at Chloorkop in connection with the missing person inquiry. The missing person inquiry was opened by the family of her husband, Teboho Tsotetsi, last Thursday.

However, the police have insisted that Sithole was not under arrest. Despite police claims, they have refused her legal access to speak to her.
“They have handed her over to the Department of Social Development to assess whether she is in a position to give them a statement.
I have been here at the police station since this morning. From 7.30 until midday, I was not allowed to speak to her. She told me briefly that the social workers wanted to take her to a place of safety, but that she has refused,” Mokoena said.
“The representatives of the Department of Social Development say they have called their attorneys to engage on the way forward.”
Mokoena said Sithole informed her shortly after 7 am that the police had arrested her. Sithole later told Independent Media that plain-clothed police in an unmarked vehicle picked her up around 6 am but did not tell her why and where was being taken to.
“I have not yet even bathed. They came and said I must come with them to the police station,” she said.
When Independent Media arrived at the police station, the lawyer was talking to three police officers while Gosiame and her relative were in the back seat of the car of the police officer who made the arrest, Captain Motsai.
