Jerusalema, the song by music producer Kgaogelo Moagi mostly known as Master KG, featuring Nomcebo Zikode, is leading the pack. Both stars announced on their Instagram pages that their song has 500 million YouTube views.

Master KG’s reaction

Upon discovering the song’s success on YouTube, Master KG posted a screenshot of the total views. He said it was all a dream, and now they are on 500 million already. If we remember, in 2020, the song got 100 million views. At the time, they assumed the growth would stop. Many local songs stop growing before even reaching 2 million views.

Master KG’s fans congratulated him on the milestone. Many reiterated that in the history of Mzansi, this has never been achieved before. His fans reminded him only international stars make these numbers on YouTube. Celebrities like the Oskae Beya Fatse hit maker Shauwn Stylist and Robot Boii congratulated him.

Nomcebo also posted a screenshot of the incredible milestone. In her words, she says the growth of the views amazes her. She has travelled to some of the biggest world stages to perform the song. People play and react to Jerusalema like it’s a brand new release.

One fan accused Nomcebo of using voodoo to get this type of success jokingly. Her fans said the song is a global anthem. Local stars like Mampintsha, Lerato Mvelase and Brenda Mntambo congratulated the singer.

Jerusalema world takes over.

If we remember, the song came out in the year 2020. Most countries globally enforced lockdown restrictions due to the coronavirus at the time. Many people assumed it was the end of the world. Jerusalema was a groovy song that gave people hope worldwide.

After restrictions were eased in each country, people did the Jerusalema dance. In the same year, the video got over 100 million views. Just like that, the song became a global sensation. Fast-tracking to now, Jerusalema is still in demand and has the potential to reach 1 billion views.
