It’s never all roses in the lives of the rich and famous. A patch of thorns here and there can always be found. It appears Kaizer Chiefs skipper, Itumeleng Khune has hit tough times both on and off pitch. Other than the on field problems, it appears Itu Khune and wife, Sphelele Makhunga are separated.
Itumeleng Khune and his wife, Sphelele Makhunga tied the knota in 2019 and have also welcomed a baby girl.
The couple celebrated 3 years together in November and were all loved up and happy. Unfortunately it appears all is not well in the Khune household. Sphelele Makhunga is said to have moved out of their marital home in Joburg before Christmas. Sphelele went to Durban to spend Christmas with her family leaving the skipper. Her reason for leaving him being that she is “fed up”.
Tough times for Itumeleng Khune
While the marriage may not be over, the couple seems to be taking a break. Itumeleng has over the past been seen with other women with videos being shared too of the soccer player with other women. While Sphelele’s reasons for leaving her marital home were not shared, she is said to have been “fed up”. Sphelele shared a Christmas photo with her and her daughter and Khune was nowhere to be seen although he shared the photos too.
On the pitch the skipper’s life isn’t as exciting. He has been benched a number of times with his last match being against SuperSport on December 15. A number of mistakes at the beginning of the season led to him losing first preference for the Kaizer Chiefs number 1 jersey. Gavin Hunt made it clear that Ituo Khune would have to fight for his place in thr team. He has to stay fit, train hard and impress the technical team.
So much for a rough end and start to the year.
