Gomora family gathered to celebrate Mam Sonto Connie Chiume’s lifetime achievement award homecoming. Ma Sonto is the most senior actress in the Gomora cast and is doing a lot of good work that everyone can see. Besides doing her role as Sonto, Connie is also naturing young talent on Gomora like Nandipa Khubone ‘Sibongile’ and Siphesihle Ndaba ‘Mazet’.
Within two months, Connie had won two-lifetime achievements in Entertainment, leaving the Gomora cast with nothing but to throw celebrations. Celebrations are not new to the Gonora cast, with many being serial winners. Recently, Zodwa ‘Connie Chiume’ won the DSTV Viewers Choice Best Actress, and it was all tears of joy. Now that the serial award winner Sonto gets another local and International lifetime achievement could only mean more and more celebrations. Indeed, there is no better way of celebrating such a significant achievement than what the Gomora family did.

For some time now, Gomora’s cast has proved to be a family away from home. The loving and caring actors have a unique way of sharing love amongst themselves, which has gone to the rest of the crew behind the scenes. One of these days, you will find them doing dance challenges, and on another day, they are playing games against each other creating bonds that help them to perform well onset.
With all the great news happening within two months, Connie brought her first award home, which meant a severe celebration among Gomora stars. The seventy-year-old veteran won her first Lifetime achievement award at the South African Film and Television Awards (Saftas). On top of that, she will receive another international lifetime entertainment achievement from Hollywood and African Prestigious Awards. This means that Connie will be flying to the United States to receive her award come 29 October.
Fellow actors like Zodwa, Mazet and Teddy made sure that the celebrations were massive. People enjoyed as they showed Sonto her love leaving Mzansi impressed.

Since then, Connie has been a wonder to watch as she has featured in several movies and drama series. In 2020, Connie starred in the five-star international film ‘Black panther’, showing the whole world that she has matured like fine wine. Her role on Gomora has since wrapped her class as one of the best actresses in Africa.
