Detective Nyawo’s son Cebo Mthembu Jnr is one of the most livable characters on the most watched Soapies Mzansi. He plays the character of Nyawo the KwaMashu dictionary, as he never finished a sentence without using a bombastic word.
As you all know Nyawo plays a detective in the drama and he is doing a great job, but did you know that his son is also a part of the cast?
Gabisile was recently involved in a Gender Based Violence situation that turned completely ugly.
The woman MaSkhosana totally lost it when she found out that Gabi had taken her husband and her kids to a safe place.
One of the three kids was Cebolenkosi Mthembu jnr, detective Nyawo’s 6 year old son.
Nyawo said that his child went through an audition process just like all the other children. He said when he heard that the show was holding auditions for kids he encouraged his son to attend because he knows that his son is brave and smart.
“He went for auditions, and nobody knew he was my son until one of the crew members asked about his parents”
Cebo Snr explained that his son got the part because he impressed the producers of the show and not because he is his son.
The actor says even though he knows that his son has a bright future in the acting industry, he is going to encourage him to Chace education first. He says he knows hard the acting industry is.
Nyawo says his son is too smart and he appreciates challenges as young as he is.
The storyline with Junior involved a woman who goes off the rails and holds Gabisile hostage at K Mash FM. She ended up having to go for rehabilitation and Counseling.
In his first appearance, Cebo Jnr and his siblings looked terrified as their mother was having a physical altercation with their father. The kids were hiding in the bedroom not knowing where to go.
It looks like Mthembu is right to say his little one is brave and smart because those kids were truly believable and sold the story well.
Maybe his son will be cast as a regular as well because Nyawo also started as an extra on Uzalo and got promoted when he was given the Detective role.
We’re just going to have to wait and see.
