Isidingo actor Sechaba ‘Motlatsi Mafatshe’ turns to farming
Isidingo time slot will pave way for the new anticipated series, The Estate and in the wake of that many actors have fallen into hard times after losing their gigs. No doubt the pandemic has had a toll on the entertainment industry as a whole and many have resorted to some income-generating projects while some have levelled up their side hustles in a bid to secure the bag.
Recently due to the pandemic toll, celebrities like Zodwa Wabantu has ventured into chicken rearing projects and eggs selling. We can all agree that she is winning and her business empire is growing whilst cashing more at the same time.
Isidingo firebrand Motlatsi Mafatshe has joined the long list of celebs who are levelling up with their side hustles in the midst of the pandemic. Mafatshe is well known for his controversial chaotic role on Isidingo as Sechaba Moloi. Motlatsi who effortlessly played the role of Sechaba Moloi for over nine years.
In the wake of the cancellation of Isidingo, he has resorted to farming as an extra source of income. As of now, he is busy doing some soil tests on his 30-hectare plot.

Speaking to the media he did say that soil testing was going to help him on what will best to grow for higher yields.
“This will help us determine what kind of plants will survive on our soil. Our intention is to prepare soil suitable for lettuce, tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, spinach and other vegetables. The good thing is our soil is very fertile,” said Motlatsi.
As he goes through the soil testing procedure the bubbly actor has however rolled out a poultry project. Sechaba is new to the business world and will surely need some mentorship from Zodwa who seems to be winning big. He has more than 50 layers and will be expecting to scale up his production soon.
“Honestly after the cancellation of Isidingo, I realised that I can survive on acting alone and that when I negotiated for a venture with my uncle,” he said.
Sechaba and his uncle trade as Ubuntu Farming. Recently the seasoned actor starred on How To Ruin Christmas. On the Netflix original series, he starred as Themba Twala who was unhappy with his toxic marriage.
The cum-musician who has three tracks under his name is also set to feature in an upcoming movie. Motlatsi starred on One Night Kwa Mxolisi set to be premiered on 26 February on ShowMax.
