South African actress Zinhle Mabena Ngwenya who plays Sihle on Mzansi Magic’s Isibaya was apparently behind the wheel in a drunk driving accident that took 2 lives and left one crippled for life in 2017.
The Sihle actress apparently has worked very hard to sweep the life changing accident under the carpet. Zinhle Mabena Ngwenya is reported to have been under the influence of alcohol after leaving a get together with friends in Vosloorus . She was apparently on her way back to her house in Centurion. Isibaya’s Sihle attempted to overtake 5 cars in her Porsche resulting in a head on collision with a red Corolla, according to witnesses. The driver of the Corolla is one of the 2 individuals who died in the accident having spent a day in hospital fighting for his life. The passenger spent five days in hospital before passing on. Zinhle is said to have lost consciousness due to impact and was found on the scene.
Isibaya’s Sihle involved in drunk driving accident that claimed lives
A witness says Zinhle’s husband, Robert Ngwenya arrived on the scene although there is no indiciation of who may have called him and accompanied her to hospital where she was admitted. Upon admission at Union Private Hospital, according to a police report in the Sunday World’s possession, blood tests revealed that she had been under the influence of alcohol. The police report reveals that the accident occurred in the early evening. Zinhle’s insurance company refused to take responsibility as the actress was driving under the influence and also driving at 180km per hour in a 80km per hour zone.
The family of the deceased, the family is seeking justice for the death of their loved one. While the case was reported to the police, the actress managed to sweep the issue under the carpet. The Ngwenya family has not spoken about the incident or released any statement.
