Thembi Seete’s career on Idols, SA
Thembi Seete made headlines in 2021 when she was a guest judge on Idols SA season 17. Somizi was on a break by then, and Thembi was set to replace him, judging alongside Randall and Unathi. Many fans called her Somizi’s permanent replacement because they were impressed by her judging skills.
Seete wowed Mzansi with her judging skills, and many agreed she did a great job. Fans headed to the social media app Twitter where they showered her with compliments on her judging skills and her age-defying looks. Such that Mzansi commented they wanted her on Idols SA forever.
Mzansi’s wishes came to pass when Thembi Seete posted on her Instagram that she would join Idols Sa season 18. She joined Somizi Mhlongo and rapper JR as new judges in the singing competition.
However, her road at Idols, SA, was not easy. She received backlash from Idols SA fans as she was being trolled for being too soft on contestants.
Is Thembi Seete returning to Idols SA?
After joining Idols SA as a full-time judge for season 18, the heavyweight entertainer struggled to impress Mzansi. During her first appearances on the show, many gave her the benefit of the doubt as they hoped she would pull up her socks and become a better judge. Well, all hope is lost as Thembi’s judging skills are not improving, and Mzansi has already labelled her a lousy judge.
Idols, SA fans made it clear on Twitter that they wish that Thembi Seete would not return to the show in the next season. However, Idols SA showrunners have not released a statement about whether Thembi is coming back.
