Scandal’s Omphile born Bohlale Boikanyo left Scandal viewers in some stitches after her controversial scenes this week and left many wondering if she is really lesbian or not.
Omphile character can be surely likened to that of Zinhle on Rhythm City. She has gone through a lot of trauma more than anyone in her family and is this the reason why she is opening up more on who she really is.
Omphile mother was out of the picture when she was young and after her death, she had to live with her estranged father whom she had a little bond with and a stepmother whom she was still yet to accept. As if that was not enough societal pressure took a toe on her and life hasn’t been the same for her.
She recently befriended a friend by the name Gugu-born Lerato Walaza who is funky and weird. Gugu is now certainly known through her bizarre haircut, piercings and tattoos as her trademark.
Many had so many questions to ask when Omphile got plaited funny braids which can be likened to those colorful braids of Sho-Madjozi. Her sister, Lindiwe might have gone through a similar rough patch in life, just like her sister Omphile but she was not so bizarre or awkward like what Omphile is proving to be. Many figured the real Omphile late this week when she pulled up a fight with a stranger whilst defending Gugu whom the guy seemed to take a toe on yesterday.
She pulled a fight with the strange boy like a jealous lover who is trying to protect what’s hers just like the case of Zinhle fighting for Kea against Sticks though their fight was of words.
Omphile is a lesbian and hasn’t figured it out and it seems well to be a phase. Honestly, at this stage, we don’t know if Gugu is a lesbian as well because she just debuted recently.
Gugu might just be as well going through a phase and finds herself in a complicated situation with Omphile whom she finds out more attractive and cool to hang around with because they have a lot in common maybe we can say a connection.
The only person who will come to accept Omphile when she opens up about her situation is Lindiwe and Phindile who have a better understanding of it. However Omphile parents will be shell shocked and devastated with their daughter’s behavior since both of them are judgmental and religious.
Despite her father previously accepting Gugu he won’t take the situation lightly rather Omphile will be banished from home only to live with her sister Lindiwe who is set to find her own apartment after finishing paying her loan installments to Bra Neo.
