MALAWI Police last night went to the house of Prophet Shepherd Bushiri in Lilongwe to arrest him after receiving a warrant of arrest from Interpol. Our sources close to the matter confided in us that the 15 armed Police officers did not find the prophet at home.
The self-proclaimed prophet has skipped South Africa after being given bail for fraud and money laundering charges. Our sources say they expect Bushiri to hand himself to Police at Area 30 this morning according to Malawi Times.
The South African security agencies alerted Interpol for the Prophet to get arrested and sent back to South Africa to face trial hence the action of Malawi Police last night.
Bushiri is facing a raft of charges in South Africa following a botched investment deal that saw him receive pensioners funds to the tune of R109 million. He misappropriated the investment which has seen him being charged with fraud, money laundering and theft.

He is also facing charges relating to his acquiring of the South African citizenship which the Home Affairs Department believes was flawed.
Bushiri escaped from South Africa after it became clear that his citizenship and that of his wife Mary could be revoked, which would condemn them to prison pending their trial.
Bushiri has since released a statement refuting claims that he holds more than one passport with different names.
