He was regarded as the jack of all trades and master of all, Mpumelelo Bhulose is a South African actor best known for his vicious gaster role on Uzalo as Muzi Xulu. The actor was born on 2 February 1972 in KwaMashu, Durban Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa.
Earlier this year, he turned 49-years-old, and Mzansi was more than thrilled to learn that he was still alive. Despite being dupped one of Mzansi’s finest, his acting career turned south all of a sudden. What happened to the seasoned actor who had capped his acting career with accolades?
It was reported that he was one of the most toxic actors to work with it at some point. However, in the mix of things, he saw his fallout with many showrunners, and since then, he has failed to regain his feet on small screens.
He is one of the few actors who have starred in almost all of Mzansi most-followed drama series. In his career managed to star alongside famous seasoned actors. On Generations, where he played starred as Martin. From Generations, he later featured on Tshisa as Sipho Sithole.
Mpumelelo later went on to star on Joe Mafela’s show Khululeka. Of interest, the show also had Connie Chiume and Sindi Dlathu in the equation. After being labelled as one of the difficult actors to work with within the industry, he went into hiding.

After his long absence, he had a comeback gig with Uzalo. Mpumelelo Bhulose’s stay on the Uzalo cast was short-lived after he called it quits. Rumour mill has it that he was axed after a fallout with showrunners.
A few years later, he bags a gig on etvs drama series Imbewu: The Seed. However, in 2020 he made all sorts of headlines when he was canned from the drama series.
According to Isolezwe, the seasoned actor was shown the exit door after not showing up at work for three straight weeks. In the wake of his exit, more daring allegations leading to his exit flooded social media.
Rumour had it that Bhulose was booted out after refusing to take orders from the show’s co-executive producer – Leleti Khumalo. Well, Khumalo also doubles as a lead actress in the show. It was reported that the two often exchanged words off-camera. It was revealed that Bhulose didn’t like the idea of getting orders from Khumalo “he regarded her as his equal and not his boss.”
However, since then, he has been off the screens and not so long ago, he was reportedly broke, proof that he really needs a pick-up gig.
