The series has found its versatile cast in both famous actors and has a fair share of new faces in the acting industry. This week veteran actress Cabangile Gumede joins Durban Gen cast.
In last night’s episode, we saw MacGyver needing Sibiya to escort him to a patient’s residence. The paramedic had received news that a mob in the township had beaten up an older woman who they believed was a witch. On arrival at the older woman’s place, they find Thembinator there, and she tells them that her grandmother is the woman they had come to pick up. They all take the elderly woman to the hospital on a stretcher in the ambulance.

In videos of the teasers for the next episode, we find Cabangile Gumede’s Gogo Xaba character telling Dr Mbali that she turns into a young and beautiful girl like her at night. However, the community is quite unforgiving to Gogo Xaba and does not understand that she is just a woman with dementia; therefore, they think she is a witch.

Agatha, who now works at the hospital, visits Gogo Xaba to apologize that she did not understand that she was just sick with dementia. A mob breaks into Gogo Xaba when Agatha is at the place and attacks the sick grandmother. Fans are applauding the series for raising awareness in the communities for mental health among older people.
Cabangile Gumede is not a new face to the screens of South African television. She has landed roles in numerous Television productions before. She is primarily a comedy actress in the cast of the comedy show Meet the Khambules, which airs on Moja love. The actress is also a youtube actress on Thenjiwe comedy, a page created by serial comedian Thenjiwe Moseley who stars in the hit comedy series Judge Thenjiwe Khambule.
