7de Laan is one of the longest-running drama soapies in South Africa. The drama series has been airing since 2000 on SABC2 and is focused on the fictional characters of people in Hillside. Over the years, 7de Laan has seen actors making their career debuts on the show and other veterans making a comeback on the same show. Linda Sokhulu joins 7de Laan.
According to Phil Mphela, the veteran actress has signed a contract with the SABC 2 soapie. Her character is not yet announced to the public, but the story block may see her being part of the Afrikaans series for the next few months. The series, which is best known for its versatile drama series, has fans hoping she is given a villainous role.
Linda Sokhulu is an award-winning actress who rose to fame when she landed the role of Cleo Khuzwayo in Generations back in 2004. After that role, many players in the entertainment industry started to take notice of her talent. She has been featured in many primetime drama series from that moment henceforth.
Zodwa from Umkhokha joins 7de Laan
In 2006 she played a role in the film, A place called home, and the following year in Ubizo: The Calling. Her most significant role came in the legal drama series Sokhulu and partners, where she played Pamela. In 2019 she joined Rhythm City and held her character till the series was cancelled in 2021. Her most recent role has been in the faith-based drama series Umkhokha where she played Zodwa, who is Mamzobe’s sister, who had a daughter with her brother in law.
Linda Sokhulu’s trophy display is well decorated with Golden Horn Awards. In 2012, 2016 and 2017, the actress won the Best Actress in a Lead Role in a TV drama. In 2016 she also won an award for the Best Supporting Actress in a Television soapie. The Africa Movie Academy Award also awarded her the Best Actress in a Leading Role award.
