Umbuso premiered on the 3rd of April 2022, and the first episode had audiences hooked on their screens. Kwanele Mthethwa is one of the lead characters on the soapie playing the role of Thembelihle. The drama that follows the families portrayed in the series has the potential to become addictive.
Thembelihle is a career-driven young woman that would make any parent proud. She is driven and feisty but has little to no respect for her husband, whom she tries to control. Mthethwa went on to play the lead role in a movie called Intandatho Yokukhanya shortly after Isithembiso was cancelled. Recently she was a lead actress in a film called Induku where she was a girl who like the traditional fight meant for boys. She played pretend alongside Zamani Mbatha, who played her younger brother in the movie.
