In Pictures, The wife actress ‘Bontle’ Kamogelo Molatlhoe, set to replace Farieda Metsileng in uBettina Wethu.
The SABC drama series uBettina Wethu’s first season is coming to an end, and several actors have left the series with the second season coming. Many actors have been announced to be leaving the drama series, and Farieda Metsileng, who is Bettina in the series, is also leaving the series. This has left Mzansi in shock as she is the lead character, and she is suitable for the role.
Today entertainment commentator Phil Mpela has shared that Kamogelo Molatlhoe will be taking on the role of Betty in the series’ second season. Even though fans loved Farieda for the part, they also loved Kamogelo’s acting and talent. The actress has been holding the role of Bontle in Showmax’s hit series The Wife, but it was a minor role where she played Hlomu’s best friend. This will be the first lead role in her acting career, and many fans are saying she will have to speak Isizulu for her role.
Kamogelo Molatlhoe will play Bettina in uBettina Wethu
UBettina Wethu is South Africa’s version of Ugly Betty, a series on Johannesburg’s fashion world. It follows a naive girl who gets a job working for one of the most eligible bachelors in the city, and she tries to make a name for herself in the fashion industry. Her main setback is that she is slightly less attractive in a business that demands that one should be beautiful. She, however, decides to do whatever it takes to fulfil her dream.
Reasons, why Farieda Metsileng is not coming back have not yet been made public, but fans are wondering if she was fired or if she quit on her own. Many fans speculate that she is pulling a Nomzamo Mbatha on them, where she leaves a part that is perfect for her for greener pastures. Lunga Shabalala is also joining the cast of uBettina Wethu, while Hungani Ndlovu will join this fun cast playing Duma. Mzansi has very mixed reactions because while some people hate that some old faces are leaving, the ones coming are well known in their craft, and others look forward to watching them on the show.
