Guess who is back? Khanya Mkangisa is a South African presenter and actress who plays the role of Akhona Jola on telenovela The Queen Mzansi.
She was well known for popular roles in series like Isidingo, Shattered, Step Up to a Start-Up and Harvest. Khanya is a part-time Dj and a renowned television presenter.
Akhona recently announced her return to our small screens on The Ferguson’s The Queen cast but opened up on the struggles she faced ever since the drunk driving incident.
She rejoined the star-studded cast after being fired in 2019 following her drunk driving video which went viral on social media.
Despite being cancelled, she was offered a fresh start an acting gig by Word of Mouth Pictures to play the role of Mbali on Muvhango in 2020. Since the debacle sis never looked back; she featured on Showmax’s Blood Psalms cast and is making her comeback on Mzansi’s most popular telenovela.
Speaking to DJ Fresh on Metro FM, she revealed that she owned up the consequences of her actions, and she learned the hard way.
“I don’t like to play the victim. I was in the wrong. No one should ever be driving under the influence, for whatever reason,” It’s now in the past. Still, I suffered social and financial consequences from the incident, said the former YoTv presenter.
The enthusiastic Khanya took it to Instagram to reveal that her Akhona role would be back on The Queen on 25 October 2021.

Despite being cancelled by sponsors and Ferguson Films, The Queen Mzansi telenovela producers, Khanya Mkangisa’s appetite for the elegancy, glitz, and expensive life never faded.
Sis enjoys spoiling herself; expensive holiday trips, designer clothes, and frequent spar visits show her appetite for money and fame.
For her Akhona role on the Queen, Khanya earns R44 000 per month, she supplements her income with endorsements from expensive brands.
