South African Amapiano artist Duduzile Ngwenya, famously known as Lady Du, is no stranger to making headlines with her private or professional life. A few months ago, she made headlines when her family drama broke out on the internet after her mother’s day message was responded to by her father. The drama, however, died down quickly, and she was in good books with her mother, and her father went quiet.

In a post, the musician said that she was grateful for her mother as she singlehandedly raised her and her siblings. She even went on to say that they struggled to make ends meet when she was younger. However, as someone who was once a musician, her father responded by saying that her statements were false and that he provided for his children.
Even some social media accounts users claimed to have gone to school with Lady Du and said she was lying. They even said that the musician drove a nice car whilst they were in school, and she lived a better life than most of her schoolmates.

Lady Du shared her throwback pictures on Instagram and went on to say that she was slimmer in her earlier years. She is now thick and has pointed out that she loved her body back then and her current weight. Many of her followers complimented her that they loved how stylish she was back in the day.
Lady Du’s rise to fame
The musician always knew that she wanted to sing when she got older and started singing when she was only nine years old. It is safe to say that she takes after her father, who was also a musician at a younger age. However, her career did not take off the way she wanted until 2020, when she was only 29 years old, which may be considered an older age to start an entertainment career.
