Mzansi got to see and know Thato Montse for the first time on an interpersonal television programme. Thato is a famous winemaker from Cape Town with a booming wine empire. On the Real Housewives of Cape Town, she has proven also to be fun and very spicy.
Thato Montse’s business
Thato is the founder and CEO of the famous wine brand Thato Wines. She started the brand after developing an interest whilst working with a wine brand. Thato Wines has grown and its footprint on the market is starting to show.
With the wealth she made from her brand, Thato is moving in big and rich circles. She also lives a very lavish lifestyle as the paper keeps rolling in. Her previous work in marketing helps her promote her brand and penetrate a very competitive market.
Education
Thato is a well-learned woman. She has a diploma in Brand Communication from Vega School. She also has a postgraduate qualification in Design. Thato enrolled in the University of Stellenbosch and did a short course on Garagist Wine Making and as her love for wine and making it grew deeper, she enrolled in the Cape Wine Academy for Wine Making.
After her postgraduate studies in design, she started working for a major marketing agency and her role prompted her to work with two famous alcoholic brands in Mzansi. One is a favourite cider, and one is a cream liquor brand.
Thato Montse’s husband
Thato is currently happily married, but things weren’t as rosy before. Initially, she was in an abusive relationship with her former partner.
The reason why she left her previous partner is that he was abusive towards her. When Thato was still a student, he supported her financially, and that’s when he became controlling and abusive.
Real Housewives of Cape Town Hit
On Real Housewives of Cape, Town Thato is a hit. She addresses issues very quickly and has spicy comebacks. There was a misconception about her being an alcoholic, but she said it comes with being in her industry. If we remember, A2B winery founder Nonku Williams had the same issue on Real Housewives of Durban.
