South African actor and poet Masoja Msiza is well known for playing the leading role of Nkunzi Mhlongo on SABC 1 soapie Uzalo. Born and bred in Kwa-Thema in Gauteng, Masoja’s love for acting started in primary school, where he was heavily involved in drama and art classes.
On Uzalo, Nkunzi plays a villain and ruthless crime lord. Nkunzi is also a renowned businessman on the screen, where he owns a chain of businesses including restaurants, garages and salons around the KwaMashu community. The business acumen skills are transferred from his off-screen life in real life; Masoja Musiza is a serial entrepreneur with business interests in Film and Drama, Framing and Mining.
