AKA
After Nellie Tembe’s alleged suicide, the NPA reopened the case to thoroughly investigate how she lost her life. A week after Nellie’s burial, her friend submitted pictures and videos of the bruised young woman; the friend told the police, AKA abused Nellie. In one of the videos, the young woman was crying for her mom, saying, “You don’t know what he’s doing to me.”
Somizi Mhlongo
The choreographer and radio presenter, also known as Somgaga and SomSom, was accused of sexual abuse and attempted murder by his ex-husband Mohale Motaung. The star got suspended from his multiple jobs, including his presenting job on Metro FM and Idols judge position; Somgaga was reinstated in most places after Mohale decided not further to pursue claims.
Jub Jub
The rapper and hit reality TV show Uyajola 9/9 presenter was accused of raping three women, namely Amanda du-Pont, Masechaba Khumalo and his cousin Buhle. Jub Jub was suspended from Uyajola 9/9 after all the allegations. The rapper has filed a defamation of character lawsuits against his rape accusers.

Vusi Thembekwayo
The businessman, author and famous motivational speaker Vusi Thembekwayo’s wife opened an assault case against him for allegedly slapping her and forcefully dragging her out of their matrimonial home. When he responded to the allegations, he claimed to be overseas when his wife said the incident occurred; he also spoke of his wife’s battles with substance abuse.
SK Khoza
Former The Queen actor and now aspiring musician was accused of assaulting his fiance Mandy Hlongwane. After assault charges were pressed against him, The Queen fired the actor with immediate effect.
Bujy
The presenter got in a verbal argument with Boity Thulo one night, and when he reached his breaking point, he threw a glass bottle on Boity’s face. Boity opened an assault case against him, but police reported he refused to get into a male holding cell; perhaps that decision was persuaded by his gay status. Boity also opened a civil case so he could repay the money she used to reconstruct her face after he injured her.
