In Pictures, Muvhango actress Bukamina Cebekhulu ‘Gugu’s age gets Mzansi talking
Bukamina Cebekhulu has been holding the role of Gugu on Muvhango for several years now, and currently, the story has been centred on someone stealing her identity. The actress plays the role of Imani’s older cousin, a single mother to a toddler daughter she takes care of on her own. After getting stuck in the elevator with Azwindini, the two started an entire relationship against the advice of the Mukwevho family.
Their love becomes a problem because Gugu has dated Vhutshilo, Azwindini’s son, with Susan. With many people hating her because she is wrecking Susan’s 20-year-old marriage, she ends up with the chief. As if that was not enough, Gugu, unfortunately, gets her identity stolen by a psychiatric patient, and they kidnap her and take over her life.
Bukamina Cebekhulu ‘Gugu’ from Muvhango’s age stuns Mzansi
Current Bukamina Cebekhulu has been playing double roles: Gugu, who is in the hospital being kept hostage and Nomasonto, who is trying to get Azwindini to marry her so that she gets half his estate. The actress takes on the role of an older woman in the Venda series. Bukamina was born in 1989, and she is currently 32 years old despite taking the role of someone in her mid-thirties in the SABC 2 telenovela.
Before she was in Muvhango, Bukamina was in a drama series called iNkaba; then, she was in Duma Ndlovu’s Ingozi. Her role in Ingozi is the role that led her to land the role of Gugu in Muvhango, where she plays actress Zonke Mchunu’s cousin. Off-screen, they are also great friends and spend a lot of time together despite not being related in real life. And also, like her on-screen character Gugu, Bukamina is a single mom to a daughter in real life. She keeps her family and private life private and does not post a lot on her social media accounts.
