South African Telenovela fans were in for a treat when The Legacy premiered on our screens. This drama series was one of its kind on the channel. However, it has been announced that M-Net will cancel The Legacy at the end of its Second Season, which is airing.
The Legacy is a story of power battles within a family. The storyline follows the story of the Price family and their hunger for power. After The patriarch of the family died before he could announce his successor, it was a war. Sebastian had a bitter ex-wife, Angelique, with a power-hungry daughter, Felicity. These two would do whatever it took to ensure that the position does not go to the current wife’s son SJ.
At first, Dineo Price, played by Kgomotso Christopher, is not interested in the company, but she has a change of heart as the series goes on. The series has had positive reviews from fans and critics on the internet. The director of M-Net channels had this to say about the series:

The Legacy is set to be cancelled at the end of season 2
In their statement on the show’s cancellation, M-Net said that surveys have indicated that viewers like limited series compared to long-running Telenovelas. They want to nurture their shows in tune with their customers’ needs. Though the show has had positive feedback, they have no choice but to cancel it. Actors will shoot scenes until February 2022, and viewers will enjoy the show till September 2022. Tshedza Productions applauded M-Net for giving the production house a chance to bring its storyline to life. They say that they wish to work with the channel on different other projects in the future.
