Despite being the most-watched drama series on Mzansi Magic, several lead actors have dumped Gomora for personal reasons of late. However, the drama series has managed to wow Mzansi despite losing some of its big names in the mix of things. Here is a list of seasoned actors who dumped Gomora in the eleventh hour for their reasons.
Don
Despite being the face of Gomora of late seasoned actor, Israel Matseke-Zulu, a character played by Don, bowed out of Gomora in style. His on-screen character was shot point-blank on close range with his wife Zodwa character played by Sannah Mchunu.
The showrunners have since confirmed the exit of Don and revealed that the seasoned actor wouldn’t be part of the star-studded cast on Gomora. In the wake of his exit, the seasoned actor revealed that he was ill and confined to a wheelchair and could not walk anymore.
Zulu revealed that he saw it fit to exit the show, given that he was not able to walk to and fro on set. He revealed that he was suffering from the rare bacterial disease gangrene and had made one of his legs immobile.
Actors who dumped Gomora because of personal reasons
Langa
The fast-rising actor made all sorts of headlines when he dumped Mzansi Magic’s most-watched drama series, and Gomora hasn’t been the same without him on our screens. The fast-rising actor Siya Xaba played the on-screen of Langa on Gomora. However, he dumped the drama series to focus on his behind-the-scenes duties in the mix of things.
Yes, Xaba happened to be a director in real life and had to call it quits on Gomora to pursue his directing gigs. Speaking to the media, the fast-rising actors reviewed that he was going behind the scenes. He even teased Mzansi that he was working on a project to add to his directing profile. Despite insisting that he will be back on screens soon, we are yet to see the bubbly actor on our small screens. He released his movie Carrots this year and featured some of Gomora’s cast.
Mohato
Legendary actor Ernest Msibi exit from Gomora came as a shocker. He was one of the leading actors of the drama series but bowed out after a contractual disagreement with the producers.
However, in the wake of his exit, he joined Mzansi’s most-watched drama series Uzalo will be delighted to know that he will be joining the show. On Gomora, Msibi played the on-screen character of Msibi, a hardcore criminal that just came out of prison.
