She has fast become one of the celebrated faces on singing competitions and auditions as a judge. No doubt she has wowed Mzansi for years as Idols SA judge in recent years. Unathi Nkayi is a celebrated South African singer, actress and radio personality.
However, she is best remembered for her gig as a co-host on Popstars when she starred alongside Rowan Cloete’s multi-award-winning legend.
Apart from this, she doubles as a content producer and media mogul. Since then, she has become a reckoning force in the entertainment industry. Of late, she is best known for her Idol SA gig, which she has been on for eight seasons.
We can all agree her road to fame started when she auditioned for the SABC1 musical show Castle Loud. After her unmatched talent, she was promoted to the show co-producer.
Unathi marked a new chapter of her career as she switched to broadcasting. She joined YFM from 2004 to 2020. In the wake of her gig, she also had gigs on Pop Stars, Metro FM and Kaya FM.
In the wake of her on-air personality, Unathi made all sorts of headlines when she starred in a Disney edutainment series Doc McStuffins. She was cast as Rita The Cheetah. However, it seems as if she has finally opted to settle as a panellist.

She has capped her illustrious career with several accolades, including the MTN Media Awards and Most Promising Woman in Media 2005. She also managed to win Metro FM Music Awards in the Best Dressed Artist and Song of The Year award. In 2014 she won the Glamour woman of the year award.
However, of late, Mzansi have been connecting the dots regarding Unathi’s private life. She is a mother of two and was previously married to radio personality Thomas Msengana best known as Bad Boy T. The two tied the knot back then in 2019. Well, their marriage turned south a few years later after Msengana cheating allegations.
We of interest is Unathi’s age that has got Mzansi talking. She is a gym addict, and that’s a well-known fact, and her bagging body says otherwise, but she is old than she looks.
The multi-award-winning personality was born on 6 November 1978, Grahamstown, Eastern Cape. The 43-year-old kicked off her career after furnishing her craze for media with degrees from the University of Utrecht (Netherlands), Rhodes University (South Africa).
