In Pictures, Gomora actress Thathi ’Katlego Danke’s wedding dress gets Mzansi talking.
Actress Katlego Danke who plays the role of Onthathile or Thathi on Gomora wedded Phumlani and became Mrs Ndaba for the second time after previously married Mbongeni Ndaba. Their black and white themed wedding is arguably the best onscreen wedding in the previous decade, and the bride’s gown impressed Mzansi fashion designers. Though the wedding planning team had a few days to prepare for the big day, they clearly understood the task.
A man of expensive taste, Phumlani Ndaba broke the bank to prove his undying love for Thathi and delivered a glamourous wedding ever witnessed in Gomora.
Marred by drama and controversy, days before the wedding, Thathi’s mother MaSonto confessed to Phumlani’s parents about her hand in Mbongeni’s death. The two camps decided to bury the hatchet and support their children’s tying the knot.
Will the status quo pass the test of time? Phumlani managed to convince her mother that Thathi was not why Mbongeni shunned his family.
Melusi’s confession on Thathi’s wedding
Thathi’s childhood lover Principal Melusi Dlamini, visibly still had feelings for his longtime lover and lost his wife’s trust because of Thathi. For a respected man of his calibre, he gatecrashed the wedding and delivered a shocking confession. Melusi revealed that his love for Thathi is long gone, but he wanted to make sure that Phumlani was the right man for his ex-lover, a confession that ragged MaSonto.

The Bride
Clad in her white shoulder dropped laced wedding dress, Thathi clearly understood the day’s mission; she wore expensive makeup done by beauty artist Ellaine Lala Ngubeni. Actress Katlego Danke revealed that the Gomora team took a well-deserved three days off after shooting the wedding scenes.
The love story was told; what a beautiful shoot we had. I had to rest 2/3 days after the shoot just to reset but incredibly satisfying to watch all the hard work of the whole Gomora team play out so perfectly on screen. Grateful to do what I love – Katlego Danke
