In Pictures, Generations The Legacy, actor Lelethu ’Yonda Thomas’ ties the knot, his wedding traditional attire impresses South Africa.
Actor Yonda Thomas, a journalist Lelethu Malinga on Generations The Legacy, ties a knot with his long-time girlfriend and medical doctor Mumtaaz Emeran. The couple got engaged in December 2021 after a six-year relationship; according to Mumtaaz, the secret wedding took place on 3 April 2022.
Yonda Thomas and Mumtaaz Emeran’s relationship
The actor and a qualified medical doctor look beyond their professions to work for their relationship; though all looks rosy on social media, their relationship experienced many ups and downs. Mumtaaz became a mother to her son at the early age of 16 and suffered rejection from her own family; she is proud of Thomas’ fathering abilities as he filled the role with an exception. The couple frequently flaunts and gushes over each other on social media, a testimony of their strong love.
Moving their relationship to the next stage, Thomas proposed on 13 December 2021 and kept his promise in a glamourous private wedding.
Mumtaaz Emeran hogged the headlines as a stranded medical student who begged for R500 000 school fees on social media. She accumulated half a million in student debt that she owed the University of Witwatersrand and had to clear it before graduating to start practising as a doctor. Turning to South Africans on social media, Mumtaaz raised more than her fees debt and used the remaining balance to open a foundation targeted at young girls who struggle to pay school fees.
Lelethu on Generations The Legacy
Thomas joined the Generations cast to play the role of Lelethu Malinga, a journalist who has a long time vision outside of journalism. He is the brother of detective Dali Malinga (Andile Nebulane), who always gives his elder brother a baby-sitting headache. Struggling to feed himself, Lelethu always turns to Dali for financial help. On Generations, he is good with women despite being a player.
Speaking on his role in Generations, Thomas Yonda reveals that he learns a lot by playing the role of Lelethu but claims he is nothing close to the character in real life.
“Lelethu is overzealous and sometimes hurts people’s feelings to get what he wants; he is a charming character who gets along with everyone; I am grateful to learn from playing him every day.”
Wedding attire
The couple tied a knot in a unique isiXhosa traditional attire and charm Mzansi.
“This is my dream wedding attire, and my fav is living my dream right now anyway. Congrats, my brother.”
