From rags to riches, the story of Kabza De Small
No doubt he has been dubbed the Amapiano King. Kabelo Motha is a celebrated South African DJ best known as Kabza De Small. The celebrated disk jockey has been winning big of late.
He was born on 29 November 1992 in Mpumalanga, South Africa. Despite being born in Mpumalanga, Kabza was raised in Pretoria. The 28-year-old pursued her career in 2009 and started with venturing into an Afro-fused house genre, then switched to EDMs.
From there, he was honing his skills and spreading his wings. In 2016 he released his debut album that got Mzansi talking.
Kabza De Small Avenue Sounds album was a hit, and it literary made Mzansi know him better than before. However, during that time, the industry had pure talents such as DJ Cleo, DJ Fresh and Tbo Touch, and they shadowed him. It was not easy as he had to hustle his way up.
Despite his smash hit ‘Uber Everywhere’ being a national anthem upon its release, he struggled to gain prominence, which forced him to do gigs for free at some times.
However, a few years later, he became a reckoning force in the music industry when he released “Amabele Shaya” and “Umshove,” featuring Amapiano sensation Leehleza. What made these songs a complete success is the fact that his industry rival did the vocals.

A year later, he was beamed the Amapiano King after collaborating with DJ Maphorisa birthed Scorpion Kings. Since then, the two have been making all sorts of headlines, and it seems as if they are not holding back. Their singles and EPs have topped the charts not only in Mzansi but the world at large. In recent months Kabza De Small has been often referred to be the “King of Amapiano”. To cap his illustrious blooming career, he has been considered one of the best-selling music artists of amapiano.
No doubt he has rags to riches story to tell; he has been in the game for years, but his breakthrough came nine years later. In 2019 Spotify South Africa named Kabza De Small the most-streamed South African artist on the platform 2019.

In the wake of his newfound fame, he is living large, and he has managed to cap his celebrity lifestyle with exotic cars that cost a fortune. From relying on public transport, Kabza has one of the most expensive fleets in Mzansi for entertainers.
Well, amongst his finest beasts is a VW GTI which costs a whopping R400 000, and on top of that, he also has a Mercedes Benz with an estimated R1 million price tag. No doubt he is living large, and his lavish mansion tells it all. As of 2021, he has an estimated net worth of R2.5 million
