To Mzansi soapie viewers’ amazement, this was not a new face on TV screens. It was former Skeem Saam actor ‘Fanie’ Gift Mokhampanyane joining Muvhango as Spencer, whose nickname is Spitjo.
Gift Mokhampanyane is a beloved face on South African screens. When Muvhango took to their official Instagram page to announce that he would be joining the SABC 2 drama series, the news was met with joy from fans of the actor. Fans all over Twitter and Instagram congratulated the actor on his new role. Gift announced his role in a Twitter post where he took a screenshot of Muvhango’s announcement and captioned it:

Spencer’s role has started a weird friendship with VhoMukondoleli, but it’s clear that Spencer is up to no good. The two have found a balance with talking about his relationship with his late grandmother and Mukondoleli sharing her experiences with her grandson and how much she misses Luruli. Like someone with an ulterior motive, Spencer entertains the stories and shows interest in the conversations.
Gift Mokhampanyane’s early life and Television career
The actor born and raised in Gauteng Province pursued a qualification of drama and acting at his Tertiary level of education. Gift attended the National School of Arts, where he pursued and studied Drama and Performance. Before he even graduated, the actor was already auditioning and landed a role in Soul Buddyz playing Sipho in 2015. From then onwards, the actor became famous on Television screens, making it easier for his following jobs.
After his debut role on Soul Buddyz, his next gig on Television was a presenter job on a children show called Yotv on SABC. This was in 2011, and he was on the show for several months until he moved on. In the second season of Sokhulu and Partners, the talented actor took on the role of Tsepo Moloi. Gift played the role of Fanie in Skeem Saam, and it turns out to be the role that he is best known for until this day.
