Former Scandal actor ‘Simo’ Sandile Mahlangu set to join Durban Gen
Sandile Mahlangu made headlines and stole hearts when he graced our screens playing Simo on Scandal. The controversial role suited him well as he played a heartthrob that made ladies crazy. After his exit from the etv show, Sandile worked on some projects that let him showcase his talent.
Durban Gen has amassed a lot of viewership since its debut on eTV and at one point had a total of two million views. With the star-studded cast and talented scriptwriters, viewers have been put through an emotional roller coaster with the different storylines.
Sandile Mahlangu is set to join the Durban Gen cast, according to Entertainment News reporter Phil Mpela. The actor’s role in the medical series has not been made public yet. However, his debut is in April, but the actor has already auditioned and landed the part. Fans of the actor are excited to see this thespian back on the small screen.
Acting may not have been Sandile Mahlangu’s professional choice when he was still in School. The actor was chosen to be part of the students in his School chosen to go and train as Electrical Artisans, but an accident cut that programme short. He later joined Tshwane University, where he graduated with a Degree in Electrical Engineering. Before graduating, he had already been discovered and landed roles in several commercials.
Sandile Mahlangu will join Durban Gen in April
Sandile’s debut Television role was in Rhythm City, playing the role of Cash. That is the role that put him on the map before he had roles in Isithembiso, Single Guyz and Scandal, lastly. In Scandal, he got to play alongside Cindy Mahlangu, who played his married lover, who lied to be his cousin. After Mamba discovered them, Simo was forced to kill Violetta but never fully gained his boss’s trust.
After his exit from Scandal, Sandile has been in the hit Netflix movie, How to ruin Christmas. He got to play alongside Thando Thabethe and many other actors in both the movie’s original and sequel. Besides his acting, Mahlangu has been busy with his modelling deals and brand partnerships.
