Durban Gen’s actress Phumeza ‘Tsidi Makitle’ age shocks Mzansi
No doubt she has been dupped as one of the fast-rising actresses of late. Her unmatched talent has seen her become one of Mzansi’s finest. Tsidi Makitle is a celebrated South African fast-rising actress best known for Phumeza on-character on the etvs medical drama series Durban Gen.
We can all agree she is that star actress we all love to hate. Just like those before her, the actress discovered her craze for acting whilst she was young.
However, she did not heavily involve herself in theatre productions because of her responsibilities back home. In 2003 her mother suffered a stroke, which took a toll on the family, but she lived up to her dreams a few years later.
Blessed are those who see beautiful things in humble places where others see nothing. Of interest is that the fast-rising actress has an identical twin who also happens to be an actress.
The two recently graduated in 2020 with Bachelors Degrees in Creative Arts from the University Of Zululand. In the backdrop of their financial woes, they were offered NSFAS grants to fund their educational costs.
In the wake of their graduation, the two audited for a gig on Durban Gen. However, Tsidi was lucky enough to bag a gig on the drama series.

She was cast as Phumeza, a soft-spoken, compassionate, and well-mannered medical practitioner who diligently tends to her patients; thus, she becomes the matron’s favourite nurse. In the drama series, she is married to a police officer, Detective Sibiya.
However, of late, her age has become of interest to Mzansi. Well, how old could she be? We have managed to connect the dots, and the actress happens to be younger than we thought. She was born on 17 August 1998 in New Germany, Pinetown, In KwaZulu-Natal.
She still has a lot of archives since she is just 23-years-old. However, her age comes as a shocker, even though she was in her late 30’s given her on-screen character. She joins a host of seasoned actresses who are younger than they look.
