Did former Generations The Legacy actor Bafana Cele fall on tough times? Recent pictures get Mzansi worried.
South African actor, former Generations The Legacy star Mnqobi Duma famously known for playing the role of Bafana Cele in the SABC 1 soapie, got Mzansi worried. Since his sudden exit from SABC 1 longest serving soapie Generations The Legacy, Mnqobi swopped acting for writing.
Bafana Cele in Generations The Legacy
In Generations The Legacy, Mnqobi Duma portrayed the role of (Fana) Bafana Cele, a son of villain Jack Mabasa (role played by Vusi Kunene). Fana was an upright persona who worked hard to put food on the table and wasn’t interested in inheriting or joining his father’s shoddy business line. Fana dated Nolwazi Buzo (Thando Thabethe) and ended up taking a fall for her. A drunk Nolwazi ran over a person while drunk driving, and Fana covered for her to avoid jail time.
Always in trouble with Jack for being too soft and his disinterest in taking over the family business, Fana’s demise was a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. His father gunned down Fana to death. He exited Generations The Legacy through death on 29 0ctober 2018 and cited the need to explore different career paths as a reason for his exit.
Mnqobi Duma dumped his acting career to focus on making music. The versatile entertainer and writer are creating his legacy in the entertainment industry; in June 2020, he released his first book titled The Best Play Ever Written.
Despite celebrating a graduation in May, a win in his life, it is the recent video that worried his loyal followers. A visibly distraught Mnqobi posted a video speaking about Spiritual life and had fans ask if everything was ok in his private life.
“Fana ka Cele, is everything ok, bro? We haven’t heard from you since Generations days. Any boss moves on the cards?”
When contacted for comment, he revealed that though Covid 19 took a toll on finances, he is ok and finding his feet again.
“Like any other creative, Covid wiped out our savings; I can assure my fans and fellow friends that the situation will get better and better. I have a lot in the sleeve for my fan base.”
