Actress Dawn Thandeka King debuted her look on Shaka Ilembe with an Instagram post. Previously when the cast was named she wasn’t mentioned. In the image, she is wearing regal attire. On her head, she has the ancient Zulu hairstyle similar to that of Nomzamo Mbatha and Ntando Duma.
Dawn is wearing brown clothing from her chest down and she is barefooted. As a coat of sort, she is wearing white animal fur over her shoulders. Behind her are Zulu warriors. Her picture is taken in a settlement setting like a yard enclosed with sticks. She also informed her fans and followers she will be playing the role of Mkabayi Ka Jama.

Mkabayi Kalama was a very powerful woman in Zulu history. She reigned over the Qulusi military kraal. Her role in the kingdom was to be the regent and advisor of the Zulu monarchy. Mkabayi was the sister to Senzangakhona. Among some of the things she did was arrange assassinations. She also ensured the Zulu royal family stated on top.
In history, she is given the credit for maintaining balance during her time. She wished to have the power seat but she couldn’t as she was a female. Not being a king didn’t stop her from the ruling, however.

Fans and followers of Dawn were more than thrilled in the comment section. As we know Dawn is a very talented actress. She can effortlessly handle the role of a strong woman and a fighter. Fans said the role is more than befitting.
