Cassper Nyovest’s partnership with Lekau Sehoana’s multi-million rand deal on a sneaker range took Mzansi by storm in July last year. Lekau, the owner of the famous Drip footwear in South Africa, started a buzz around Twitter after sharing pictures of Cassper Nyovest’s shoe at Konka last night.
In his post, he clearly stated that Cassper was seen wearing a Root of fame sneaker that has not been released yet. Tweeps lost their cool in his comment section, marvelling at the beauty of the shoe. Fans of the brand claimed that the manufacturers went all out on the new shoe. They can not wait to have it released so that they can buy it.
Last year Cassper announced that he was collaborating with Drip footwear on a range of sneakers called Root of fame. The sneakers sold out a couple of hours after their launch and were hugely successful. Many people had to order and wait for more to be made. The shoe cost R990, and the price was in the name.

However, not everyone saw the beauty of the sure as it trended on social media for being too plain. Many people compared it to some fake China-made shoes that are on the market and asked for something better in the next design. The call did not fall on deaf ars as Mzansi is impressed by the new shoe design. It has not been announced when the shoe will be released, but fans hope it’s sooner than later.
Currently, the two partners are marketing their new shoe on which Root of fame collaborated with Domain. The sneaker range is said to be coming soon to stores.
