South African actor Tabile Tau has been stealing hearts with his young-looking face, which makes him look like a High scholar instead of his actual age. The young actor is making serious career moves with his first lead role in the new legal drama series on SABC 1, playing the role of Zola, a high school boy. This has gotten people to question the age of this young actor as they have seen him before on prime television shows.
Tabile as Zola in Good Men
The young actor brings to life the character of Zola, a high school maths genius and A-student who is in love with a girl in his class named Gugu. They were caught in the library kissing, and Gugu got called to one of the teachers’ offices later, where she was raped and taken advantage of. When she tried to break up with Zola later because she felt dirty and tainted, he refused to accept that it was over. Gugu then shared what had happened to her with Zola, who went to confront their teacher together with Gugu.
Being short-tempered, Zola grabbed a knife but slashed Gugu, who was trying to stop him by mistake. After seeing what he had done, Zola fled, threw away the knife, and ran from the scene. He was arrested the next day when he met the lawyer who would represent him, Jama. His story is that of an innocent young man who will fight for justice with the help of a lawyer, trying to redeem himself.
Tabile Tau’s age stuns Mzansi
In the drama series, the actor brings to life the character of a 17-year-old high school boy, but that’s not his age in real life. Tabile was born in 2000, which makes him 22 years of age, a far cry from the teenager he portrays onscreen. The actor rose to fame with his portrayal of Bonga in Generations The Legacy, the son of Fikile and Ben, who was estranged. He was born and raised in Capetown, where he attended Settlers High School before pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Live performance and graduating in 2000 at 20 years.
Previous roles in Television
Good Men may be his first lead role on Television, but he has held a series of minor roles in many shows before this one. Tabile debuted his acting career with a role in a horror movie called Pinky Pinky on Showmax. He went on to portray a young Abednego in Isono The sin. The actor then got a role in Goodbye Gogo, The Station, Grootman and sons and many more in the two years he has been acting.
