Air Zimbabwe plane has already has landed in Beijing and will transport 200 000 doses of vaccines donated by China back to Zimbabwe on the 15th of February.
According to Minister counsellor of Chinese embassy to Zimbabwe Zhao Baogang Air Zimbabwe has already been loaded with SINOPHARM Covid19 vaccine doses.
Government to vaccinate 10 million Zimbabweans for free
The government of Zimbabwe initially revealed that China has donated 200 000 doses of Covid-19 vaccine.
“The People’s Republic of China extended a donation of 200 000 SINOPHARM Covid19 vaccine doses. The donation and initial batch purchased are expected on the 15th of February 2021 and the first week of March 2021 respectively. “

The secretary of Information confirms that the COVID-19 vaccines will arrive later today and will undergo rigorous examination by a team of local multidisciplinary experts over the next 48 hours. This is done to ascertain the authenticity of the vaccine before deployment to vaccination centers countrywide.
The COVID-19 vaccine rollout program is divided into three phases. The first phase has two stages. Stage 1 targets all health workers and stage 2 targets those with chronic illnesses, the elderly, prison inmates and refuge camps. Phase 2 targets lecturers and all school staff. This will probably determine the dates of opening schools. The last phase, phase 3 targets the relatively low risk. The Ministry of Health and Child Care confirms the program.
The SINOPHARM vaccine has proved to be safe in clinical trials and has efficacy rates ranging from 76 to 86 per cent. It has already been used by other countries in controlling COVID-19. Everyone cannot wait to see the end of the pandemic. The deaths and lockdowns have affected the world in a negative way. Economical and social activities have deteriorated.
A Russian Diamond company has also donated vaccines to Zimbabwe.
