Idols SA judge JR Bogopa’s age revealed
JR Bogopa was born Tabure Thabo Bogopa Junior and his career carved a new name for him. He was born on the 13th of March 1987 in Bloemfontein, Free State, as of 2022, JR Bogopa is aged 35.
He was raised in the township of Attridgeville in Pretoria, where he lived with his parents. JR grew up in a comfortable home, and his parents supported him in becoming the star he is today.
Bogopa was thrust into the limelight in 2008 when he dropped his first studio album, The Main Event. The single Gata Le Nna from his album was number 1 on both YFM and Metro FM for over six weeks.
The same year his single was awarded Song of The Year at the Hype Awards. The album was nominated for the Best Hip Hop Album in 2008 at the Metro FM Awards. Bogopa also received a nomination nod at the 2009 South African Music Awards for “Best Hip Hop Album”. JR subsequently signed an endorsement deal with Renault SA.
