“I saw gates of Heaven” – Mlamli Mangcala narrates Covid-19 battle in ICU
South African actor Mlamli Mangcala known for his role as Captain Sthembiso Radebe on the Mzansi Magic drama series The Queen shared his video in COVID-19 ICU unit.
In the video posted by Mlamli on Instagram, he was wearing an oxygen mask speaking about his battle against Covid-19 virus. He revealed that he has been fighting for his life in the ICU for several days, in the process he lost 27kg. The Queen star says he had trouble sleeping and difficulty breathing and was changing positions to help him breathe better.

“I was diagnosed with Covid-19. I am still in hospital now. I survived a number of episodes from ICU. I went to ICU for four or five days, that I cannot account for. Guys, Covid-19 is real.”
“I thought I am gone … this will be it. I am not going to get out of this one”.

He tested positive for COVID-19 a few days after burying his brother who succumbed to the virus.
South Africa has hit a daily record of 9,063 new coronavirus cases in a day along with 108 new deaths. Of total cases, 38% are in Western Cape and 31% are in Gauteng, and the gap is narrowing fast. There were 39,025 new tests. The daily positivity rate is 23.2%, and is another new record.
