“I don’t do weak men,” Nelisiwe Sibiya ’Dr Mbali’ from Durban Gen talks about failed engagement and relationship with Robert Marawa
Celebrated actress and musician Nelisiwe Sibiya is topping the trends after her recent interview left a lot to be desired. The actress is best known for her on-screen character on etvs medical drama series Durban Gen. She stars as Dr Mbali.
Before her thrust into the limelight, she dreamed of being a celebrated musician. However, she has since found a foot in the entertainment industry as an actress. No doubt, her on-screen character has thrust her amongst some of Mzansi’s finest when it comes to acting despite being a rising star.
Her shot to fame came from the backdrop of her Lockdown soundtracks. However, she was later cast into Ifalakhe, and she has been winning big of late. Currently, she is nailing her on-screen character as Dr Mbali Mthethwa. Her bubbly character has seen her gain more than 1.3 million followers on Instagram.

However, the actress was very candid about her rise to fame and love life, which has seen her topping the trends of late. She dropped some bombshells during her interview on Engineer Your Life with Lungelo KM.
The actress revealed her upbringing and how she became an actress despite her dream of being a celebrated musician. The bubbly actress also dived her upbringing in which she was subjected to alleged abuse and molesting from a close family member.
However, she has it that the family protected the immediate member because of the financial power he used to manipulate family members not to take action against him.
“ I have forgiven him and I have healed. she echoed. Before he passed away, he would get a certain amount from me because life knocked him down and he didn’t have anything anymore. It was really sad because as much as something can do something bad to you, you don’t wish them bad luck.”
Well, she also detailed her failed engagement with gospel star Ayanda Ntanzi. She has it that different religious fundamentals took a toll on their relationship. The actress has it that two days after her break up she had a call from Durban Gen showrunners. She also revealed that:
“If I get married, I don’t need a weak man, he must have his own things.”
The actress also rubbished dating Robert Marawa.
“I am not dating Robert, I don’t know where this is coming from. We are friends, he’s an amazing man but we are not dating,”
