Hungani Ndlovu, Romeo from Scandal offered Black-ish role?
There are unconfirmed reports doing the rounds that Hungani Ndlovu who portrayed Romeo Medupe on Scandal! has been offered a role in the American comedy series Black-ish.
The reports come after confirmation that Hungani Ndlovu left Scandal!.
Marketing manager Makatseng Mokomoe said Hungani Ndlovu resigned from Scandal!.
She did not rule out the possibility that Romeo would return on Scandal! in the near future. Mokomoe said Scandal! will not bring anyone to replace Hungani Ndlovu as Romeo Medupe.
The reports added that Hungani Ndlovu left Scandal! because of two reasons. The first one according to sources, was that he was not happy with the way he was being treated by Scandal! and felt he deserved more. The actor told those close to him that he felt unappreciated despite playing the popular character Romeo, which was bringing in all the numbers on the show.
Another reason is that Romeo quit Scandal! to avoid drama. The source said there were people who were targeting Hungani and he resigned to make things easy for them. The publication tried to reach Hungani Ndlovu for comment but their efforts were unsuccessful at the time of publishing.
However, it seems Hungani Ndlovu might have left for other reasons after publications that he has been offered a role on Black-ish.
A report states that Kenya Barris who is one of the creators of Black-ish, during a live Instagram video on Thursday said he has an interest in Hungani Ndlovu.
He said that he has done some research on Romeo and said that the actor who graduated from Flii’Academy in Los Angeles, was killing his role on Scandal!. Barris said that he would want Romeo to appear on Black-ish and that he would be contacting him soon with the offer and hoped he would pick up the phone.
It remains to be seen if Hungani Ndlovu will appear on Black-ish but we sincerely hope he does because he deserves it!
